Fáilte Ireland and Waterford City and County Council is delighted to announce a new Tourism Experience Development Programme for rural County Waterford. This initiative calls for individuals and businesses interested in developing new tourism experiences in rural Waterford. These experiences will complement existing experiences in the destination and become members of the Waterford Rural Tourism Network encompassing Blackwater Valley, Comeragh, Copper Coast, Gaeltacht na nDéise, and Waterford Estuary. - The importance of sustainable tourism development in rural Waterford

Tell me more! This programme is open to individuals or businesses with the potential to deliver a compelling tourism experience – this can be a new or existing experience that requires further support to bring to the marketplace. Examples could include:
- Adventure & Activities: mythical forest walk, photography hiking adventure, innovative cycling/e-biking tours themed on food or discovering magical places
- Culture and Heritage: learn how to play an indigenous instrument, create a unique piece with a craft designer, meet a publican for folklore and storytelling in a pub, Irish language experiences
- Nature & Wellness: mindfulness in the wild, dawn chorus or dark sky experiences, coastal geology adventures, eco safari, rock pool exploration
- Food & Drink: coastal foraging, dining in quirky locations, food and drink trails, baking in a private home
- Sustainable & Eco Friendly: guided foraging and wild food cook up, sustainable farming experiences, pollinator friendly garden creation, river eco tour
- Collaborative Experiences: hike and paddle combinations, traditional food and heritage experiences, nature, art and mindfulness

Important Note:
- There are a limited number of places on this programme. All places will be offered subject to approval.
- The programme is suitable for tourism businesses who are not already engaged with Fáilte Ireland or Waterford City and County Council.
